“Abuja’s transformation under your watch is bold” – Tinubu hails FCT Minister Wike

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has showered praise on the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Barrister Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, over the ongoing infrastructural development across the territory.

The president also commended Wike’s tireless efforts in reshaping Nigeria’s capital city into a modern metropolis.

Speaking at the flag-off of the construction of the Body of Benchers Road extension on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, the President expressed deep admiration for Wike’s leadership style and visible developmental strides across the FCT.

Represented by Professor Nentawe Yilwatda, the Nation al Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tinubu cited the minister’s unmatched energy and direct supervision of projects, which he said have breathed new life into previously stalled initiatives.

“Let me express my deep admiration for His Excellency, the minister of FCT, Barrister Ezenwo Nyesom Wike. I keep on saying that your energy is unmatched. I don’t know how you sleep. Sometimes I watch you on TV or on-site, moving from one project to another.

“You supervise yourself, you don’t send, you’re there physically. You took over a federal capital with many stalled projects, you turned the FCT into a development agency,” Tinubu said.

He also highlighted the rapid pace of change since his recent visits to Abuja, which he said has left him impressed.

“Every day we see an improvement. I was here just some months ago, and when I came over here, I was almost lost. Every month, every week, you make addition to the FCT.

“You have domesticated the Renewed Hope Agenda of Mr President; street by street, District by District, the transformation of Abuja under your watch is bold, visible, worthy of commendation.”

“All I can say is, well done mr minister for making it, ‘I nye ndi ebe a, I nye ndi eba a!” he added.
