… Says projects will strengthen APC’s grassroots support
Senator Isah Jibrin (Echocho) has flagged off the construction of the second phase of solar-powered boreholes across several communities in Kogi East, reaffirming his commitment to improving access to clean and safe water for residents.
The flag-off ceremony, held in Bassa Local Government Area, marked the commencement of the projects in Mozum, Gboloko, and Gbobe communities in Bassa LGA, as well as Ajomonu in Dekina Local Government Area.
Speaking on behalf of Senator Isah Jibrin, Alhaji Akpa Anana disclosed that the second phase of the water intervention project is designed to expand access to potable water across the senatorial district. He noted that the project will also cover Ajita-Enjema, the Yoruba Community in Ankpa, Ankpa Local Government Secretariat, Young Muslim Secondary School Ankpa, Ugbamaka in Olamaboro, and Ibochi in Igalamela/Odolu Local Government Area, among other needy communities.
According to him, the senator has already delivered over 63 solar-powered boreholes under the first phase of the project, all of which are fully operational and serving thousands of constituents across Kogi East.
He emphasized that the provision of clean water remains one of Senator Echocho’s key priorities, describing it as a critical component of community development, public health improvement, and poverty reduction.
“Access to clean water is a basic necessity of life. Senator Echocho remains committed to addressing the needs of the people through impactful and sustainable projects. The successful completion of the first phase encouraged the commencement of this second phase, which will reach even more communities across Kogi East,” he stated.
Akpa Anana further remarked that the senator’s numerous constituency projects and people-oriented interventions have continued to earn him widespread support across the district, adding that such developmental strides would further brighten the electoral fortunes of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in future elections.
Traditional rulers, community leaders, women groups, and youth representatives from the benefiting communities commended Senator Echocho for the project, described it as timely and transformative. They noted that the boreholes would significantly reduce the challenges associated with water scarcity and improve the living conditions of residents.
The beneficiaries pledged their continued support and appreciation for the senator’s efforts while calling for the sustenance of developmental projects that directly impacted the welfare of the people.
