JUST IN: Benue Gov Alia’s Aide Resigns Hours After Meeting SGF Akume

The Special Assistant on Youths and Media Mobilization, Atu Terver Joseph to Benue State Governor Hyacinth Alia has resigned.

The resignation came only hours after the governor’s aide publicly disclosed that he had paid a visit to the Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), Senator George Akume, a development that has fueled political speculation across the state.

In a resignation letter addressed to the Secretary to the Benue State Government, Atu expressed appreciation to Governor Alia for the opportunity to serve in his administration.

“I am sincerely grateful for the opportunity to serve under your administration and the confidence reposed in me.

“I am appreciative of the experience gained and I wish your Excellency continued success in the service of Benue State,” he stated.

The former aide, however, did not disclose the reason behind his decision to leave office.

His resignation has nevertheless attracted attention because it followed a meeting with the SGF, whom he openly praised on his official Facebook page during the Democracy Day celebration.

Sharing details of the visit, Atu described Akume as the “most powerful Benue man alive” and commended the warm reception he received.

He wrote, “Today, I decided to pay a surprised June 12 visit to our dear father the secretary to the government of the federation Senator Dr George Akume.

“He is the most powerful Benue man alive with a good heart and it was an honour to have such a wonderful reception from him. Today, I understand why God has been elevating him to where he is Today.

“May things always fall in great places for you daddy SGF”.
