Speaking during an interview on Wednesday, Dickson said it was contradictory for individuals to publicly support Obi while at the same time criticising or insulting those leading the political platform backing his presidential ambition.
“You cannot support Obi and disparage me, the leader of the platform itself. That is nonsensical,” he said.
Dickson stressed that the NDC leadership had provided a political structure for Obi and his running mate, Rabi’u Kwankwaso, ahead of the 2027 general elections, insisting that the party was playing a central role in their political ambitions.
According to him, the narrative that the party depends on incoming members for relevance is misleading, adding that the NDC has continued to attract prominent politicians even before Obi and Kwankwaso joined its ranks.

He cited the defection of notable political figures from across the country, arguing that the party had remained open and active in building its structure nationwide.
Dickson further maintained that the NDC had already positioned Obi as its sole presidential candidate, describing him as a “cherished member” of the party.
He reiterated that all stakeholders within the party were working together towards the 2027 elections, urging supporters to maintain respect for the party’s leadership while promoting unity ahead of the polls.
