Speaking during an interview on Arise Television on Sunday night, Pearse said recent court decisions have settled the dispute over the authentic leadership of the opposition party.

According to him, the issue dates back to the Supreme Court judgment delivered on April 30, the Certified True Copy of which became available on November 1, 2025.

He argued that the ruling had already determined the status of the competing factions within the PDP.

He said those aligned with Senator Samuel Anyanwu challenged the decision in court but suffered another setback after a fresh Appeal Court judgment.

“Since 1st November 2025, this decision was made know in the Certified True Copy of the Supreme Court’s judgement of April 30th. They appealed the judgement of the Supreme Court, but another judgement came out yesterday by the Appeal Court stating the Anyanwu’s fraction null and void and that the Turaki fraction is the legitimate PDP.”

Pearse, who is a member of the PDP Board of Governors, maintained that the latest court pronouncement has effectively invalidated the structure backed by Wike and strengthened the claim of the Turaki camp.

The PDP has been battling a prolonged internal crisis, with rival groups laying claim to the party’s leadership. The dispute has triggered a series of court cases, producing conflicting interpretations and deepening divisions within the main opposition party.
